Built for Leicester's businesses
Leicester has real strength in textiles, logistics and food production, and creators and online business owners here don't need a generalist down the road — they need specialists who answer quickly and price fairly. Because we work online, you get exactly that, plus a nudge towards the right local support: the East Midlands business support network is a good first stop for grants and advice, and our Swoop-powered funding portal searches 1,000+ lenders and grant schemes on top.
How is affiliate and referral income taxed?
Affiliate commission is trading income like any other, taxable when earned rather than when the platform eventually pays out — and affiliate networks often hold balances for weeks after a sale. Where the network is overseas, the payment may arrive in another currency and net of fees, both of which need converting and grossing up consistently. Links that keep earning long after a video was made mean income can arrive in a tax year well after the work, so the record has to be by payment period rather than by project. And once your total from all sources passes the £1,000 trading allowance, it all has to be reported.
