Built for London's businesses

London has real strength in tech, fintech, creative and professional services, and creators and online business owners here don't need a generalist down the road — they need specialists who answer quickly and price fairly. Because we work online, you get exactly that, plus a nudge towards the right local support: the British Library's Business & IP Centre and your local London Growth Hub is a good first stop for grants and advice, and our Swoop-powered funding portal searches 1,000+ lenders and grant schemes on top.

How should a London creator handle brand deals and agency fees?

London is where most UK brand and agency money is negotiated, and brand-deal income is where creator tax gets messy. If an agency or management company takes a commission, your taxable turnover is the gross fee, not the amount that reaches your account — the commission is a deductible expense, and treating the net figure as income understates both sides. Deals that include products, travel or accommodation as well as cash are taxable on the value of everything received. And where the brand is VAT-registered, adding VAT once you are registered costs them nothing, so registration is far less painful in a B2B market than a consumer one.
