Built for Nottingham's businesses

Nottingham has real strength in life sciences, retail and creative digital, and creators and online business owners here don't need a generalist down the road — they need specialists who answer quickly and price fairly. Because we work online, you get exactly that, plus a nudge towards the right local support: the D2N2 Growth Hub is a good first stop for grants and advice, and our Swoop-powered funding portal searches 1,000+ lenders and grant schemes on top.

When does VAT apply to sponsorship income?

Sponsorship is a supply of advertising services, so it counts towards your taxable turnover in the same way any other fee does — and once your rolling twelve-month turnover exceeds £90,000 you have to register, with 30 days from the end of the month you crossed it. Because most sponsors are VAT-registered businesses that reclaim what you charge, registration is usually painless commercially. Where it gets complicated is a mixed deal — cash plus product plus affiliate commission — because the whole value counts, not just the cash element. Watching the rolling total monthly is the difference between planning registration and back-paying it.
